What leaves your phone, and what doesn’t.

Reshape is built so that your raw health data stays on your iPhone. No ad networks. No tracking pixels. No profile anyone could tie back to you. Here’s the honest version, in plain English.

The short version

• Your raw Apple Health data (heart rate, workouts, recovery) stays on your iPhone.
• To generate your plan and coaching notes, Reshape sends anonymous training context (pace ranges, weekly mileage, recent run summaries, completion stats) to Google’s Gemini API. No names. No identifiers. No raw health records.
• Your plan, workout history, and coaching notes are stored in your own private iCloud account using Apple CloudKit. Reshape Labs cannot read it. Only your Apple devices can.
• No ads. No trackers. No data sold. No advertising profile built.

Data we access on your device

With your HealthKit permission, Reshape reads running workouts, heart-rate data, VO₂Max estimates, recovery and sleep signals, and the body measurements you’ve authorized. All of this is read locally on your iPhone. It is not transmitted in raw form to Reshape Labs or any third party.

You can withdraw HealthKit permission at any time in iOS Settings. Reshape loses access immediately.

Data we send to Google Gemini for plan generation

Reshape Labs does not operate a server. To generate your training plan and coaching notes, Reshape sends a small amount of anonymous training context directly from your device to Google’s Gemini API. Typical examples:

• Pace ranges (for example: easy pace 5:45–6:10 /km)
• Weekly running volume (for example: 32 km this week)
• Summaries of recent runs (distance, duration, effort, completion)
• Your stated goal (race distance, target date) and current training block

We never send:

• Your name, email, phone, or any account identifier
• Raw HealthKit records (individual heart-rate samples, GPS routes, sleep records)
• Precise location data
• Device identifiers that can be linked back to you

Where your plan lives

Your plan, workout history, and coaching notes are stored in your own iCloud account using Apple’s CloudKit private database. The data lives in your iCloud, not in an account owned by Reshape Labs. By Apple’s design, we cannot read it. It syncs across your Apple devices signed into the same iCloud account.

The website and signup email

reshape.run is hosted by Vercel. Visiting a page leaves standard server logs (IP, user agent, page requested) that Vercel keeps for a short rolling window. There are no analytics or tracking pixels on the site.

If you sign up for the beta, your email address is stored only long enough to send you what you asked for, handled by Resend. We don’t share it with anyone and we don’t send marketing you didn’t sign up for.

Your rights (EU GDPR)

You can ask for a copy of the personal data we hold about you, correct it, delete it, or restrict how we process it. You can also withdraw HealthKit consent at any time in iOS Settings. To exercise any of these rights, email privacy@reshape.run. We aim to reply within 30 days.

Final legal review

Reshape is built by Arjan Works, a sole proprietor based in the Netherlands. The full legal policy (controller details, retention periods, sub-processor list, international transfer terms) is in final review with an EU privacy lawyer before paid launch.
